Rental Terms & Conditions R e n t a l   T e r m s   &   C o n d i t i o n s

Reservations & payment

All gown rentals must be paid in full at the time of booking.

A reservation is confirmed once payment has been received and the required rental agreement has been completed.

Rental pricing is based on the specific garment and selected rental period. Applicable cleaning fees and taxes will be disclosed before checkout.

The Closet Society reserves the right to decline a rental reservation where garment availability, condition, or other legitimate operational concerns prevent fulfillment. Any payment for a reservation declined by The Closet Society will be refunded.

Rental period & returns

Each reservation includes a designated pickup and return date.

The renter agrees to return the garment by the date and time specified in their rental agreement.

Extensions must be requested and approved in advance and are subject to availability. An extension is not guaranteed.

Garments must be returned with all accompanying components, including applicable accessories, detachable pieces, and garment bags.

Cleaning & garment care

Every garment is professionally cleaned and inspected between rentals.

A cleaning and handling fee applies to each reservation. This fee covers routine cleaning associated with normal wear.

Renters should not attempt to wash, dry-clean, steam, spot-clean, or otherwise treat garments themselves without prior written authorization.

Specialty cleaning required due to excessive staining or unusual soiling may result in additional charges.

Normal wear & damage

We understand that garments are meant to be worn and enjoyed.

Minor wear consistent with responsible use is considered normal. Damage beyond normal wear, however, remains the financial responsibility of the renter.

Examples include significant tears, broken closures, missing embellishments, burns, excessive staining, unauthorized alterations, and other damage requiring professional repair or restoration.

The Closet Society will assess damage upon return and provide documentation of any additional charges.

Repair and restoration charges will be based on reasonable, documented costs.

Loss or irreparable damage

If a garment is lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged beyond reasonable restoration, the renter may be responsible for its agreed replacement value, as documented in the rental agreement.

Any charges previously collected specifically toward the same loss will be credited against the amount owed to avoid duplicate recovery.

The agreed replacement value will be disclosed before the renter takes possession of the garment.

Unauthorized alterations

Renters may not permanently alter, cut, hem, dye, modify, or otherwise change a garment without prior written permission.

Temporary modifications must also be approved in advance.

Any unauthorized alteration may result in restoration charges or replacement liability if the garment cannot be returned to its original rentable condition.
